Why Prezi?

                                                                           Prezi

Visual presentations like PowerPoint play a rather significant role in today's business and academic environments. Not only are they an adequate way of portraying a topic, but they are a useful tool for teaching. Most of us are very familiar with PowerPoint, but PowerPoint's can become very boring at times and hard to pay attention to if the creator is not experienced. An alternative to this would be to use Prezi!
Prezi is a Web-based tool that uses only one canvas. It allows the user to put Text, Images, Videos, and much more on that single canvas!  This presentation tool is best known for its "Zooming User Interface" (or ZUI) which allows the user to zoom in and out on the canvas to the different media points. This quote does a great job at describing Prezi- "The theory behind Prezi is that our ideas are not linear, but rather bundles of interconnected concepts that are better captured as a whole with many parts. Prezi allows the user to illustrate the relationship of concepts to one another" - facultyfocus.
I personally love prezi, and it is my preference over any other presentation tool that is available! It is neat, precise, and overall successful in delivering a great presentation. When I was first introduced to it in high school, I was amazed at how useful and how easy it was to use. It has a variety of editing options and because of the zooming user interface, the attention of the audience is bound to be kept. Prezi is growing more and more popular in today's academic and business societies, and that is no surprise.

This video displays what Prezi is all about, and how to effectively use it. Note all of the editing options that are discussed. One could also take their slides from PowerPoint, and "Prezify" them (add them to a one canvas slide on Prezi). Once a person officially finds out how to use this program, the possibilities to an amazing slide are endless! I would most definitely recommend Prezi to anyone who is either sick and tired of PowerPoint, or just looking for a better program and a more enhanced presentation.
