Business Tip
The best tip I can give you. Is when going to an interview always have a firm handshake, because your first impression is key. When you walk into an office for an interview, give your interviewer a nice firm handshake. It will show him or her that you’re intelligent, trustworthy, and confident. If you give a wimpy handshake he or she might perceive you as not so confident and shy. Studies show when a man or women walks in and gives a nice firm handshake you are more likely to be called for a second interview or even be hired. It just gives you a first good impression and when you first meet someone that is the most important matter. There is a saying that your first impression is as good for another ten, and in an interview that can say whether you get the job or another person comes in. This is a great tip to use for women because women with a firm handshake are noticed more than men because its shows more character for the women and really stands out to the interviewer and creates a greater advantage to all the other people competing for the position.
In a study run by Professor Greg Stewart, from the University of Iowa, he had people come in to interview students. What the study should the student who gave firm handshakes in the beginning were more likely have a better review. This just shows how important your first handshake is because in this economy you need all the help you can, and you don’t want to lose your job opportunity because your interviewer judges you wrong in your first encounter.  For More information about the study you can go to this LINK.

In another article they give a few tips to improve your business appropriate handshake.

  •  Put them in the palm of your hand: It is important to grasp there whole hand

  1. Hey Nick I agree with you fully that having a good handshake gives a good first impression. I had no idea that studies showed a good first handshake lead to another interview. I would have always thought that it was the way you dressed because usually appearance is key. I also agree with you that if you give a good handshake it shows that you are an intelligent person. No one wants to be none as that guy who gives a bad hand shake. I have actually been told by my friends before that I have a weak handshake. By watching this video you posted and reading what you wrote I am now going to work on the kind of handshakes I give. I never really realized how much of an impression a handshake actually has. Thanks for this tip NIck I am sure it is going to help me in the future with business and job interviews.
